A VILLAGE antiques centre is marking a milestone.
Antiques At The Mill, based at Cullingworth, is celebrating its 10th anniversary.
The business literally rose from the ashes.
In the 1970s, much of the Cullingworth Mills complex had to be demolished following a major fire, and the remaining buildings stood neglected and derelict.
But a decade ago, brother and sister Chris Harney and Julia Richardson decided to buy what was left of the Greenside Lane mill, and develop an antiques and collectables store.
The initiative has flourished, with the site also now being home to a popular cafe and tearoom, Iron Time Gym, Vintage at the Mill furniture store and a range of other antique dealers who have set up home in The Weaving Shed.
Antiques At The Mill retails in everything from militaria, ceramics, glassware, furniture, coins and jewellery to vinyl records, books, paintings and collectables.
It sells antiques on behalf of over 70 dealers, whom each rent a shelf, cabinet or area of floor space.
The shop attracts visitors from across a wide area, and has welcomed a number of celebrities.
TV antiques expert Philip Serrell is amongst those who have called.
And presenter Anita Manning visited in 2015 while filming an episode of Antiques Roadtrip. She bought a vintage sewing box, and a wooden shovel and hay rake.
Shop manager Phil Marshall says: "Often people travel from miles away to browse.
"We are known for being a family business, offering a friendly and warm welcome.
"Customers often make their visit to us a day out as there is so much to look at.
"For those that may be passionate about antiques or interested in collecting but who live further away we do try to share what we can via our social media, but nothing beats the fun of finding that special item hiding in the back."
To celebrate the anniversary, the team has been giving special reusable commemorative shopping bags to people spending £20 or more.
Phil adds: "The story of the business is a real 'phoenix from the ashes' tale.
"Antiques At The Mill is proud to be part of a thriving community, bringing business into the village of Cullingworth and helping maintain the iconic mill building for decades to come."
The company was a finalist in the Retailer of the Year category – sponsored by Extreme Display – at this year's Keighley and Airedale Business Awards.
