A RALLYING call has been issued as efforts are stepped up to get a new community hub off the ground on a Keighley estate.
Temporary cabins are being delivered to the Braithwaite site of the former Keith Thompson Centre on Tuesday, November 12.
And an appeal has been issued for joiners and other tradespeople to help renovate the cabins ready for use.
Since the demolition of the old, dilapidated building early last year, the New Keith Thompson Centre committee has secured an agreement with Incommunities to lease the land at a peppercorn rent, and a grant from Bradford Council has enabled the cabins to be acquired.
Committee chair, Julie Meares, says: "The units require a full renovation, hence our mini 'DIY SOS'. We're hoping the generous tradespeople and businesses of Keighley will come forward and be involved, whether through providing their skills or donating materials.
"November 12 is delivery day. We will require joiners first and foremost. Please get involved, even if you can only give a couple of hours of your time/skills. It will mean we can move forward and make the cabins secure and ensure they are dry."
