OVER 300,000 Covid-19 vaccinations have now been given in West Yorkshire as part of the latest NHS campaign, say health chiefs.
But data reveals that more than 60 per cent of those eligible have still not booked an appointment.
Regional NHS bosses are urging people to get vaccinated as soon as possible.
Those eligible include people aged six months to 64 years in a clinical at-risk group, over-65s, pregnant women, care home residents and frontline NHS workers.
Dr James Thomas, a GP and medical director of NHS West Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership, says: "Covid-19 remains a serious illness for many, so getting your vaccination is vital to prevent hospitalisation and even death.
"A vaccination helps stop the spread of Covid-19, protecting you and those in your family and community who are more vulnerable or cannot be vaccinated.
"As we plan group events such as Christmas celebrations, or just visiting busy shopping centres and transport hubs, a vaccination can help reduce the spread. There are over 300 places you can get your vaccination in West Yorkshire. So if you’re eligible, book your appointment online or through the NHS app, by visiting a participating pharmacy, or by calling 119 for free."
