A FUNDRAISING day helped coin in more than £4,000 for Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice Manorlands.
The event – at the Commando Mindset Fitness Studio, in Skipton – was organised by Abi Stevens, from Silsden, in memory of her mum, Julie Stevens, who died from cancer in September.
Julie spent her final weeks at the hospice and as a thank you, Abi wanted to raise as much money as possible to help Manorlands maintain its work and "help families like hers".
Abi set herself a fundraising target of £500, and had already smashed it ahead of the event by raising £2,291 – including at a doubles fitness competition, and another £415 in gift aid.
Now, following a huge turnout at the event – which included a raffle, with donations from businesses, and a cake stall – the figure has broken through the £4,000 mark.
