A VACANT Riddlesden house filled with rubbish has sold for well over its guide price at auction.
The semi-detached property in Scott Lane West was expected to fetch around £100,000 – but sold for £153,000.
Its auction listing said each room in the house was piled high with waste.
The property was amongst four Bradford Council assets which together raised £1 million when they went under the hammer in a Pugh auction.
Land at Fell Lane, Keighley, which was once occupied by the now-demolished Holme Wood Resource Centre, sold for £626,000 – almost double its guide price.
And a plot at Flappit Springs, off Halifax Road near Cullingworth, which had a guide price of just £5,000, went for £75,000.
The fourth asset, a vacant terrace property in White Abbey Road, Manningham, had a guide price of £65,000 but sold for £146,000.
No details of buyers have been disclosed.
Cash-strapped Bradford Council is aiming to raise £100m over two years through asset sales.
A report to the council's executive said that so far, £82m of assets had been identified for disposal.
It added: "Estates and Property Services is preparing a significant number of properties to be auctioned in the following months."
