HARDEN Players are bringing Blackadder II to the stage.
Players member Lisa Firth has adapted the script from four classic episodes of the popular BBC TV series, which was penned by Ben Elton and Richard Curtis.
She is also directing the production, which is being staged at Harden Congregational Church from November 22 to 30.
The cast features a mixture of Harden Players veterans and newcomers, including Ashley Judge as Blackadder, Piers Hill as Percy, John Hamilton in the role of Baldrick, Sarah Whistlecraft as Queenie and Barrie Tempest playing the Bishop of Bath and Wells.
Lisa says: "I have been a fan of all iterations of the Blackadder character since childhood, so I was thrilled to be given the opportunity to adapt and direct a production of this irreverent comedy classic for Harden Players.
"The iconic comedy boasts a host of unforgettable characters and brilliant one-liners.
"It’s been a delight to work with such a talented cast, and I hope audiences have as much fun watching the production as we've had making it."
