HISTORIC East Riddlesden Hall is being transformed for Christmas.

From Saturday, November 23, there will be a festive feel to each room of the 17th-century National Trust property, with handcrafted ornaments and seasonal displays.

And a host of events is planned over the coming weeks.

The programme includes traditional carol performances, festive tales in the Great Hall from Mrs Claus, and Christmas wreath workshops.

Plus the popular Christmas market – held in the Airedale Barn – is back, on the weekend of November 30 and December 1.

Hester Pode, welcome manager at the property, says: "East Riddlesden Hall is magical at Christmas, with its flickering candlelight and the welcoming charm of a family home.

"We’re thrilled to share that experience with our visitors, who will feel the warmth and beauty of Christmas in every room.

"But the magic doesn’t stop with decorations. The estate will host an array of seasonal events.

"The much-loved Christmas market returns bigger than ever this year, with a wide selection of beautifully-crafted gifts and decorations from talented local artists and makers. Each market is filled with festive spirit. It is a true highlight."
