COMMUNITY leaders have condemned yobs who went on the rampage – causing thousands of pounds damage.
Windows of cars and properties were smashed during the thugs' nighttime attacks.
Neighbourhoods targeted included Swine Lane, Carr Bank and Bradford Road, Riddlesden, and properties alongside the Leeds and Liverpool Canal towpath.
Now calls are being made for police patrols to be stepped up in the area.
Plus anyone with information is being urged to come forward.
A number of householders took to social media to voice their anger and frustration following the attacks, which happened last Monday night/early Tuesday.
One resident described up to six properties in Granby Lane having windows damaged, and a vehicle in Bradford Road had its rear window broken.
And a woman told the Keighley News how all the windows of her car were smashed.
In relation to that incident, a West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "Enquiries are ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact police via 101 quoting log 240 of 5 November."
The spokesperson added that incidents had been flagged up to the Neighbourhood Policing Team.
Councillor Andrea Walker, who lives in Riddlesden and represents the area on Keighley Town Council, says: "It's disgusting what happened, and I feel for those affected.
"This is normally quite a quiet area, you don't usually get anything like this.
"I would like to see the police staging some high-visibility patrols to help reassure people and provide a deterrent."
Keighley East district councillors Fulzar Ahmed, Caroline Firth and Lisa Robinson, in a joint statement, said: "This is mindless vandalism and no one wants to see this kind of behaviour in our community. The police have told us they are investigating and we’d encourage anyone who has CCTV of the incident to send it to them directly and not post it online. We hope the culprits will be caught swiftly."
