Forest of Bradford is seeking tree-planting sites in the Aire Valley.
The project wants to hear from landowners willing to provide suitable plots.
Areas could include former landfill, underused farmland, prime flood plain sites or community spaces.
Plots should ideally be upwards of one hectare — about the size of two football pitches — but smaller ones will be considered.
Forest of Bradford has received £15,000 each from Keighley and Shipley area committees to fund the new woodlands, which will be managed for wood fuel.
A spokesman said there was increasing interest in burning locally-grown woodchip for domestic and small industrial heating appliances to help meet future energy needs.
And he added that woodland was known to negate the effects of heavy rainfall and reduce incidents of flash flooding by increasing the ability of the land to absorb water.
Anyone with suitable sites is asked to contact Ian Butterfield on 01274 718420.
