A paedophile who got sexual kicks from exerting control over his young victims has been jailed for four years.

James Hindle, 42, was convicted by a jury of four offences of indecent assault and two of sexual activity with a child.

He pleaded guilty to one offence of indecent assault.

Hindle, an engineer, of Broomfield, Wilsden, abused three girls, aged 11 to 16, for more than four years, Bradford Crown Court heard on Friday.

Judge Jonathan Rose told Hindle he was guilty of repeated, persistent and determined sexual depravity.

He had used threats, intimidation and emotional blackmail in order to abuse the girls.

Hindle groomed them and derived sexual pleasure from the risk-taking involved, the judge said.

“From first to last, you have denied your offending and you continue to do so,” Judge Rose stated.

Hindle had shown no remorse, ensuring the girls had to be cross-examined during his trial and giving no thought for their wellbeing, he added.

Judge Rose said Hindle got a thrill out of exerting control over the children.

“Those who will infringe on the rights of children, and their security and safety, must expect significant prison sentences,” he said.

Hindle must sign on the Sex Offenders’ Register indefinitely and he was made the subject of a Sexual Offences Prevention Order without limit.

In mitigation, Hindle’s barrister, David McGonigal, said his client was a hard working man who had led an otherwise blameless life.
