Manorlands has launched a special plea for funds during its 35th anniversary year.
The hospice costs £2 million a year to run and more than £1.1 million of this has to come from voluntary fundraising.
Sue Ryder Care area fundraising manager Jodie Shepherd said: “These are difficult economic times and we have seen a decline in some areas of our fundraising, such as general donations and donations from community groups and businesses.
“We are in constant need of donations just to keep the hospice going.”
Senior sister Joanna Longden said: “Manorlands has been caring for local people for 35 years and as we celebrate our anniversary, we need to ensure we have enough funds to continue our expert care.
“We so appreciate all the support we receive and we hope this will continue in 2009.”
Jodie added: “There are so many ways you can help in 2009, taking part in one of our fundraising events, organising your own event, making a donation towards our running costs or setting up a regular gift by direct debit.
“There will be more plans around our anniversary as well later in the year, so watch this space!” To support the hospice, cheques can be sent to Manorlands Hospice, Hebden Road, Oxenhope BD22 9HJ.
