A long-term plan for major improvements to one of Keighley’s best-known parks is being drawn up.
Residents and community workers hope to build on research carried out among people last summer over the future of the town’s Lund Park.
Their wish-list included new play equipment, extra seating and flowers, and increased patrols by park rangers.
Residents also wanted the park returned to its former glory, including the restoration of the fountain and pond.
The campaign is being led by Lund Park Community Group and Keighley Voluntary Services worker Jo Horrox.
They are drawing up a “park plan” based on the comments of 80 people of all ages last summer. She said the group would then look around for funding for the various proposed improvements.
She said: “The sooner we get it together the better, we can use the plan to decide where we want to go.
“In the distant future we hope to get the park back to how it used to look.”
The group is also seeking cash to employ someone to work with members planting flowers around the park.
