AN EVENING celebration to mark Fairtrade Fortnight 2009 will be staged in Oxenhope.
Haworth Fairtrade Group is organising the Chuffin Fair, at the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway’s Oxenhope engine shed, in Mill Lane, on Saturday, February 28.
Attractions will include music, Rainbow Morris Dancers, Fairtrade fashion presentation and a buffet and bar.
There will also be an information stand and a raffle and tombola. Keighley MP Ann Cryer will be among those present, along with speaker Bruce Crowther, of the Fairtrade Foundation.
Rita Verity, of Haworth’s Fairtrade group, said: “We are making a record of this event by producing a cookbook. The event is free but numbers are limited so please phone 01535 647776 or e-mail rita@soniassmile to put your name on the list as soon as possible.”
She has invited people to contribute to the cookbook by creating recipes using Fairtrade ingredients and bringing along the finished dish to the fair.
She said metric and imperial measurements should be used.
The fair will begin at 6.30pm and should run until 10pm.
