A year five pupil at Oxenhope Primary School has been rewarded for her contribution to a photography contest.
Rhianna Thomas, nine, participated in “My Favourite Thing in Oxenhope”.
She was judged the winner, with her photograph of the beck running through the village’s Millennium Green.
She has been presented with a highly appropriate prize to mark her efforts — a new camera.
The three runners-up were sibling trio Elizabeth, Charlotte and Edward Denby, of Leeming, who took landscape photographs of different parts of Oxenhope.
The competition originated in a project to produce an Oxenhope village calendar, carried out in conjunction with the Parkside School photography department and Mine Creative Design, of Cross Roads.
Oxenhope resident Anne Brown, who came up with the idea for the calendar, offered her thanks to Colleen Henderson and Karl Helliwell, both of Mine Creative.
She said the money raised from the sale of the calendars had been used to fund the competition, which she hoped would become an annual fixture.
She said so far about 200 Oxenhope 2009 calendars had been sold.
Anyone who would like to buy one of the calendars should contact her on 01535 642261.
