A set of special dates cooked up a recipe for love for two Sainsbury’s colleagues.

The eyes of Keith Ingham, 48, and Linda Kelly, 41, met over the cigarette counter in the Keighley Sainsbury’s store three years ago.

Linda worked behind the kiosk and Keith used to greet her on his way to the store bakery in the morning, where he works as the bread and cake team leader.

They had both fallen out of relationships on Boxing Day and after they began talking to one another it wasn’t long before they had arranged their first date.

Keith, who has worked at Sainsbury’s for 13 years, said: “I had had a number of unsuccessful relationships and then I met Linda and it was just perfect. If there is love at first sight, then it was for me.”

Linda said: “We had our first date on Friday 13th, which is meant to be unlucky, but not for us.”

She added: “I actually first noticed Keith when we used to take our children to St Anne’s School. It touched my heart to see him playing with his children in the playground because not a lot of men are like that.”

The pair wanted to marry on a special day and Linda thought of Valentine’s Day and was delighted when she checked her diary and saw it was a Saturday.

The pair will wed at Keighley Shared Church this Saturday, at 4pm, followed by a reception at Keighley Rugby Union Club Later they will honeymoon in Tenerife. They both have children from previous relationships — Linda has a son and a daughter, Craig, 22, and Jenny, 20, and Keith has two daughters, Gemma, 26, and Laura, 23, and they both live with Keith’s son, Ryan, 16, in Felbrigg Avenue, Keighley.

¤ Sainsbury’s store has been the site of union for at least five other couples, including store manager Paul Coulson and his wife, Angie, and Nicola Metcalfe who has just got engaged to Mark Stone.
