A range of activities laid on by staff at Greenhead High School, in Keighley, intrigued and entertained dozens of Guides.

A total of 76 girls from Keighley division participated in this year’s Interest Day, which featured Tai Chi, web design, cooking, product design and digital music editing. Other activities included computing, photography, art and wheelchair basketball. Each Guide was able to select three of the interests.

Food and drink was provided by volunteers from the Keighley Friends of Guiding group and the Trefoil Guild. The day’s co-ordinator, Janet Armstrong, said: “All the training was provided by the Greenhead School teachers and everyone had a really good time at the event.

“This occasion started about 30 years ago at Greenhead but we held it at other locations for many years so now we’re back where we began. The staff welcomed us with open arms and the facilities were extremely good.

“I would like to thank the school, the Guide leaders who encouraged the girls to attend and also Carol Vaughan, the division commissioner.”
