Chuffed volunteers on the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway have been given another top award.

The five-mile line has received the accolade, from the Heritage Railway Association, in honour of its 40th anniversary.

The presentation was made by Dame Margaret Weston at the association’s annual meeting in Wolverhampton.

The award, for large groups, is being shared with the North Norfolk Railway.

Dame Margaret, the association’s president, said: “In any other year, either organisation would have been an outstanding single winner — both are worthy winners for their long-term commitment to the management of two very different projects.”

K&WVR chairman Paul Brown said: “The award thanks everyone who has played any part in making our railway one of the world’s great heritage lines during the past 40 and more years.”
