A variety of activities have kept Worth Valley schoolchildren entertained this half-term break.
The Extended Schools holiday sessions began on Saturday and runs until tomorrow.
They are being provided by the Worth Valley Extended Schools cluster, which includes a dozen local primary and secondary schools.
Among the popular boredom-busting events on offer earlier this week was a day at Park Lane College Keighley’s Star Centre, off Dalton Lane. Youngsters were able to participate in simulated space walks, learn how to operate a moon rover, direct a space mission and view the solar system in a purpose-built planetarium.
Other activities available have included mug painting, football, table tennis, a magic show and a poetry workshop.
Today and tomorrow there will be street dance workshops, archery and bird box making.
Mary Hebden, Extended Schools project manager for Oakbank, said: “With this holiday we have reached the end of the Big Lottery Awards for All grant, that has been subsidising activities for our cluster since the 2008 Spring Bank Holiday.
“We are busy seeking alternative funding sources for the Easter holidays onwards.”
For further information about half-term activities, Mary can be contacted on 01535 210111. Alternatively, ask for Linda Procter-Mackley on the same number or email linda.mackley@oakbank.org.uk.
