Friends and family of a much-loved walker are gathering to scatter his ashes at a cherished beauty spot.
Terry Hardcastle, from Silsden, died last year, aged 70, after a seven-week battle with pancreatic cancer.
His sister, Kate, has organised a walk over Silsden Moor on Tuesday for his ashes to be scattered at the “Meeting of the Waters”, which was a favourite spot of Terry and his partner, Florrie Clarkson, who died a few years ago.
It was Terry’s dying wish for the ashes of Florrie and himself to be scattered together over the moor and the spot is also where Terry and Kate’s parents’ ashes rest.
The memorial walk will begin from Terry’s house in Silsden, at 10am, and will finish at around 3pm, at the Boltmaker’s Arms, in Keighley.
Local historian Ian Dewhirst, who had known Terry for 40 years, will be accompanying walkers.
