A new community area for sport and play hosted a fun day last week.

The facility at Oxenhope Recreation Ground has been built with funding from Bradford Council’s “All to Play For” scheme.

The project has also involved Oxenhope Parish Council.

Councillor Michael Kelly, Bradford’s executive member for services to children and young people, said: “This is a fantastic way for children to come along and have some fun during the holidays, as well as giving them and the community more information on what activities we have to offer locally.”

The fun day, organised by the district council’s youth service, included a range of outdoor activities and sports for youngsters.

Council officers also provided information for parents on what other extra curricular activities are available for their children.

The All to Play For programme should see £1.4 million of lottery funding invested in children’s play across Bradford district.
