A plan to build 47 houses at Denholme Gate has been withdrawn by the applicant.
The application was due to be discussed at last month’s meeting of Shipley Area Planning Panel.
But the bid, from long-established firm Denholme Velvets, was withdrawn in writing before the meeting.
The company, in Denholme since 1938, earlier this year revealed development plans to help secure its survival.
It wanted to demolish old mill buildings for a housing development and focus operations on a smaller unit.
The firm’s 15 workers were to relocate to a 12,000sq ft warehouse nearby, which would be extensively refurbished.
The rest of the 1.8-hectare site, at Foreside Mill, in Halifax Road, was to be used for new three, four and five-bedroom homes.
When the application was submitted, Bradford Council planning officers said the site was not suitable for so many houses and would breach green belt guidelines.
Denholme Town Council also objected to the scheme
