The weather for Denholme Gala on Saturday could not have been better.
Crowds lined the main street to watch the procession which featured kings and queens, floats, Scouts, fancy dress and tractors of different kinds, local dignitaries and a fire engine.
The event was opened by Malcolm Hanson, a historian and a local lad.
There were speeches by the gala king and queen and lots of entertainment in Foster Park.
Stalls were selling almost everything and the ferrets seemed very popular with the youngsters, who enjoyed hands-on experience.
