Keighley schoolchildren will be hot stuff as they help prepare meals in a curry restaurant.

The Holy Family students will also show diners how to prepare their own meals, at Moghuls of India.

The demonstration on Monday, from 6.30pm, is being organised as part of National Curry Week.

The event also launches weekly Mad Mondays nights at the 28-year-old North Street eaterie.

Mad Mondays will allow customers to eat healthy specialist curries not available on the standard menu.

Moghuls owner Syed Ahmed has already worked with the groups of students from Holy Family.

He taught them how to prepare staple foods such as rice, chapattis and rotis, including weighing the flour, making dough and rolling it out.

The youngsters will apply their skills in the Moghuls kitchen on Monday evening, working alongside the chef.

Syed said regular demonstrations would help diners prepare traditional breads like chapattis and parathas and popular curry dishes.

He said: “It will encourage home cooking and cascading Moghuls know-how amongst friends and family.

“Mad Mondays aims to promote the cuisine and culture and raise money for the less advantaged around the world.”
