Meet one of the oldest swingers in town.
Doris Midgley, a member of a Keighley line-dancing group, is now 90.
And she celebrated her birthday with a surprise party last Wednesday.
Doris, of Ingrow, has been a member of the “Alleycats” group since it was formed 13 years ago and is as surefooted as ever.
She and her fellow line dancers meet at the Bracken Bank Community Centre, where she was presented with flowers and a cake last week.
She did not want presents, so her friends will be donating money to a charity of her choice instead.
Dance instructor Shirley Everett said: “Doris is quite a character.
“She’s a very cheerful person and loves a good joke — she knows which dances she likes to dance and certainly keeps me on my toes.”
She added she wondered whether Doris was the oldest line dancer in Keighley.
Doris, who used to work as a burler and mender at a Keighley mill, said the activity helps keep her healthy.
