Yasser Hussain collided with a single-decker bus as he drove out of a junction next to a narrow bridge over the River Worth.
The collision in Coney Lane, Keighley, on May 19, caused minor injury to himself, the bus driver and a passenger, magistrates in Bingley were told on Friday.
The rear axle of his Vectra car was torn off in the crash. Hussain, 26, of Spencer Street, Keighley, who pleaded guilty to careless driving, was fined £120 and ordered to pay £60 court costs and a £15 victim surcharge. His solicitor, Keith Blackwell, said Hussain admitted he made a careless error and was horrified by what happened.
