More than £10,000 — proceeds from this year’s Oxenhope Straw Race — has been distributed to local charitable causes.
Twelve beneficiaries shared in the handout, made at an event on Monday.
A large proportion of the cash went to the race charity, Manorlands hospice, at Oxenhope.
The remainder was split between Haworth Riding for Disabled, Oxenhope Pre-School, the Phab Club, Faith and Light, Oxenhope Conservation Initiative, Parkinson’s Disease Society, British Heart Foundation, Bradford Sport and Recreation Association, Relate, Keighley Day Services and Jack Aggus.
Race teams raising more than £100 received certificates.
Ian Barrett, chairman of the straw race committee, thanked everyone for their efforts.
