Keighley people have helped fill 100 boxes of Christmas cheer for British troops abroad.
They have donated essentials and goodies to fill shoeboxes for the Support Our Soldiers charity. The appeal has been so successful that no more donations are needed until at least next spring.
The parcels will be sent to Afghanistan, where soldiers from Keighley are currently serving. Collections are made regularly in Keighley and Skipton by the SOS charity’s local volunteer, former RAF member John Rowland.
He fills around 10 shoeboxes each month during the year and is given an allocation of 100 for December.
Mr Rowland was delighted with the response from Keighley people and organisations like Keighley Cougars, Rotary and Lions.
