Fundraising is branching out at Manorlands.

The Oxenhope Sue Ryder Care hospice is inviting people to sponsor a tree. A woodland will be planted close to the home, on land owned by resident Jonathan Smith.

Sponsorship of a tree costs £35, with all proceeds going to Manorlands. Those taking part will receive a certificate and although people will not be allocated a specific tree, they will be invited to a planting day in March.

The cost of planting and managing the woodland, which will be open to the public and will include a bench, will be met by the Forest of Bradford.

Manorlands fundraiser Matthew Binns said: “This is a fantastic fundraising opportunity that has been made available to us by Jonathan Smith and the Forest of Bradford, which we are very grateful to them for.

“The trees will make a great Christmas gift and the money raised from the sponsorship of them will go towards funding the £2.2 million yearly running cost of the hospice.”
