More details can be revealed this week of the fantastic gardening competition which could win £500 each for two schools plus a gardening pack for winning pupils.
Strategic Team Group has just secured a £2.7million first phase redevelopment project on behalf of Incommunities, to provide 27 new homes on the Woodhouse estate, in Keighley.
As part of the company’s ongoing commitment to raise awareness of local communities it is working with the Keighley News to run a garden design competition. The plan is to encourage more children to take an interest in the garden at an early age and start growing their own vegetables. It has been confirmed that voting will be carried out on our website, where readers can see each design. Entrants in two age groups — five to seven years and eight to 11 years — will be asked to design the small garden. It will be a practical garden, with a range of vegetables, fruit and flowers, and each design must include a rotary dryer, patio and garden shed.
The other main development is that the winners will be invited to help with the planting of the garden once the groundwork has been prepared.
Details of how to enter will be published in next week’s Keighley News. The closing date will be early next year.
