A Low Utley couple have demanded that Bradford Council grits the road which leads to their cul-de-sac. Vicky Winterburn, of Birkdale Court, says sloping St John’s Road provides essential access to several streets.
She is puzzled why nearby Birchwood Road, which also runs down from Skipton Road, is regularly gritted when snow falls.
Mrs Winterburn says husband Adam needs to be able to get his vehicle out because he is a joiner. Mr Winterburn said he had asked the council to grit St John’s Road several times without success.
He said: “I want residents of St John’s Road and surrounding roads to not pay their council tax for a month to make a stand.”
Bradford Council highways spokesman Keith Escritt said that when gritting routes were devised, Birchwood Road did — and still does - serve more properties in the area.
