Bradford Council has a healthy idea for those looking for last-minute Christmas presents — a £10 fitness gift voucher to give to a loved one.

The council’s leisure services is offering a 10-10-10 promotion so people can get fit and kick-start the New Year with a healthy outlook.

The offer gives people the chance to receive 10 days of gym membership for £10 — or £1 a day — in 2010, at places like Keighley Leisure Centre. Gift vouchers are on sale now and can be used at council-owned centres across the district for 10 consecutive days, from the first time the card is used.

Bradford Council’s executive member for environment and culture, Councillor Anne Hawkesworth, said: “The festive period can be a time when people stop exercising and don’t lead healthy lifestyles but the offer of a fitness gift voucher is a really good way of encouraging and inspiring family and friends to start the New Year in the right way.

“The £1 a day deal is a fantastic offer and hopefully people will catch the keep-fit bug and become regular gym users which is the aim of our b-active campaign.”

The 10-10-10 vouchers can be bought from any council-owned gym or online at bradford.gov.uk.
