Budding entrepreneurs at Riddlesden St Mary’s Primary School transformed junk into items to sell.
Youngsters from years five and six used discarded materials to make goods, including ornamental fish, photo frames, plant pots, night-light holders and gift boxes.
They then held two sales, for school pals and adults, which together raised more than £200.
The venture was part of curriculum-linked work on a recycling theme, during which pupils learned art and craft skills from Education Bradford’s Tony Bullock.
Proceeds from the sales will be used to buy some classroom games, help fund another class-based business project and support a children’s charity, the pupils have decided.
Deputy head teacher Keith Davies said: “Their success in this venture has certainly inspired the young entrepreneurs as they consider more exciting ideas for the future — Dragon’s Den be prepared!”
