MANORLANDS has received a beefy boost.
Mascots Lamby and Beefy have presented a £2,600 cheque to the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice.
The duo raised the cash through sponsorship when it represented Keelham Farm Shop in this year's Mascot Gold Cup.
More than 80 characters took part in the event, at the Wetherby racecourse family day meeting.
Entries are now open for the 10th anniversary Foresters-sponsored race, being held on April 26, and organiser Andrew Wood is hoping for a record turnout.
"This is a fantastic day out for a great cause and organisations should not worry if they don't have a mascot – they can adopt one for the day and join in the fun," said Mr Wood, a Sue Ryder senior fundraiser.
Victoria Robertshaw, co-owner of Keelham Farm Shop, said it was delighted to support the event.
"We love to make a difference in our community and the team really enjoyed taking part in this year’s Mascot Gold Cup," she added.
