A FIRE broke out this morning at a Keighley furniture showroom.
Firefighters were called to the premises, in Hard Ings Road, at about 10am.
The fire had started in a light fitting and spread to some furniture.
Staff, who were alerted when smoke alarms activated, used a fire extinguisher to put out the blaze before firefighters arrived.
Crews from Keighley, Bingley and Shipley fire stations attended.
They used a special high-pressure fan to clear smoke from the showroom.
No one was injured.
Crew commander Adam Dykes, of Keighley fire station, said the incident had shown the value of having working smoke alarms installed.
"The damage caused by the fire was only slight but the situation could have been a lot more serious had staff not been alerted early by the alarms sounding," he added.
