Oakworth’s Tom Moses claimed third place in the young rider category final standings of the Tour of Britain.
The under-23 cyclist, who was recently long-listed for the World Championships, produced a strong performance in the country’s top road race.
He came 41st overall in the event, won by Sir Bradley Wiggins, one place behind team-mate Evan Oliphant, who was Team Raleigh’s top finisher. It was an improvement on last year when the former Oakbank pupil came 74th.
Moses’ time of 29 hours, 59 minutes and 56 seconds in the eight-stage tour, featuring more than 1,000km, saw him claim third in the young rider category behind Simon Yates – who was third overall – and Alistair Slater.
Having won the Yorkshire Road Championship Race earlier this year, Moses has now completed a promising first season for Team Raleigh.
