Keighley youngster James Lund took individual silver as Ermysted’s Grammar School sparkled in the sunshine on the Lakeland Fells above Kendal in the sixth English Schools Championships.
The Keighley & Craven Athletics Club member came runner-up in the year 8-9s race as he helped his team also come second.
Lund was fourth going up the hill, with Charlie Lowry just outside the top ten, while the rest were further back.
Lund (pictured) was first back in view after cresting the hill and was only just behind the leader but he couldn’t close the gap on the descent, while Lowry claimed 11th spot.
Ermysted’s enjoyed success in other age groups, winning the year 7 team title, while the year 10-11s were third and the seniors second.
