DENHOLME, who recovered from 108-8 to 162, must have been confident when they reduced Barrowford to 6-3 in the Dacre Son & Hartley Wynn Cup final at Bradley.
However, opener Freddie Bailey was still there and took the score to 104 with the stylish Ashir Imdad, who was out for 56 off 31 balls.
They lost another wicket at 129 but were not to be denied, with Bailey, who made 66 not out off 109 balls, hitting the winning run as Barrowford took the trophy for a second time.
Matt Wear finished with 3-31 from his eight overs.
Denholme had earlier won the toss and decided to bat, but struggled against some excellent bowling.
Wear (40) and Jack Harrison (30) helped them to 108-8, when the fireworks really started.
In 24 balls, Cameron Foster hit one four and six massive sixes to go to 52 as the last two wickets added a third of the runs.
Imran Akhtar (5-54) and Mohammad Zulfiqar (3-28) were Barrowford's best bowlers, but Bailey was named as man of the match, after some deliberation, by umpires Derek Briggs and Paul Murgatroyd.
The final was in doubt as late as Saturday morning, but the superb work of groundsman Richard Webster ensured that the game went ahead the following day.
Thankfully the forecasted heavy rain stayed away long enough to get the game finished, arriving about 30 minutes after the trophy presentation had ended.
Bradley were thanked for their ground preparation and their teas, and Dacre Son & Harley for the continuation of their sponsorship.
