NEW arrivals Matt Welham, Jack Coventry and Luke Million have all been named in the Cougars squad for this weekend's season-opener at Whitehaven.
After a tumultuous winter at Cougar Park, head coach Craig Lingard has assembled a squad ready for the start of the new Betfred League One campaign.
Wing/full-back Welham is among the new faces set to be involved in Cumbria, having joined Keighley following a spell with Hemel Stags during the second half of last season.
He is accompanied in the 19-man squad by prop, Coventry, who signed for Cougars last October after two seasons at Hunslet.
Hooker Million, who joined in October following brief stints with Hunslet and French outfit Villeneuve, also looks likely to be involved at Haven.
Jimmy Beckett – one of two forwards on loan from Championship side Featherstone Rovers – is named in the squad, but club-mate Spencer Darley misses out this weekend.
Cougars fans had their first glimpse of Cougarmania Mark II when they lost 46-24 to a youthful Leeds Rhinos in their only pre-season friendly, the inaugural Derek Hallas Trophy, last Sunday.
COUGARS: Arnold, Bailey, Beckett, Cooke, Coventry, Dixon, Feather, Hallett, Hardcastle, Levy, Lynam, Miller, Million, Muranka, Seeley, Thackray, Welham, R Williams, Wray.
