GUISELEY enjoyed a 2-0 win at home to Farsley Celtic as the local rivals clashed in the league for the first time since Boxing Day 2005.
The Celts arrived at Nethermoor in the National League North play-off zone but it was the Lions who enjoyed festive cheer as victory moved them up to tenth spot.
There were no goals in an even first half, a superb save from Farsley keeper Elliott Wynne denying the hosts a goal close to half-time. Aram Soleman crossed for Chris Sang, whose header was clawed away by Wynne.
But the Lions were celebrating after 55 minutes when their man of the match Sang rifled home a screamer for his first goal at Nethermoor.
Guiseley keeper Marcus Dewhurst saved well from Ben Atkinson following an impressive run from Matt Ryan as Celts pressed for an equaliser on 76 minutes.
But the game was in the bag for the hosts when Kaine Felix set up Lee Shaw to make it 2-0 with eight minutes remaining.
Steeton continued their revival with a 1-0 win at neighbours Nelson thanks to a 92nd-minute winner.
That came from Kayle Price who produced a superb lob from a tight angle to give the Chevrons their fifth win of the season.
Having lost six in a row, Roy Mason's revitalised side have now lost just one in six.
Danny Thorpe produced a fine one-handed save to prevent their derby rivals from going ahead in the first half.
But Steeton also had their chances, Toby Jeffrey, Alastair Morgan and James Ngoe going close.
Nelson put the visitors under the cosh after the break as Morgan Crowther blasted over with only the keeper to beat and Jack Foster headed straight at Thorpe.
Then Price made them pay at the death with his fine strike which leaves Steeton still bottom in the North West Counties League First Division North - but only on goal difference with Garstang.
Brighouse Town drew 0-0 at Tadcaster Albion in the Bet Victor Northern Premier League North West Division.
