IT was an action-packed weekend in the Craven and District Football League, as Grassington United battled it out with Trawden Celtic Juniors in a top of the table Premier Division clash.
Grassington triumphed on this occasion, winning 4-1 away at their rivals to take top spot.
Oscar Canny, Reece Fowler, Luke Howson and Jake Woodward all struck for the visitors in a dominant display.
Settle United claimed their third victory in as many games to defeat Rolls 3-0 away from home.
Elliot Firth grabbed a hat-trick to round off an impressive performance.
Crosshills thrashed bottom-placed side Skipton Town 6-1. Billy Bailey claimed half of Crosshills’ goals to get the hat-trick.
Ihsan Ali Shah and Mohammed Hussain struck for FC Sporting Keighley in a tense 2-1 home victory over Silsden Whitestar. The win puts them in fourth.
Elsewhere, Bingley Town claimed victory in a 5-3 thriller away at Carleton Sports Club.
Benjamin Teal’s brace wasn’t enough for Carleton to mount a comeback.
Cononley Sports Club hit a remarkable 12 goals without reply in their victory away at Broomhill in Division One.
Chris Lumsden netted a hat-trick and four braces were scored for a relentless Cononley side.
AFC Barnoldswick remain unbeaten at the top of the table after a 4-1 away win at Grassington United Reserves.
Wissam Badri delivered a brace to ease Barnoldswick to victory.
Trawden Celtic Juniors Reserves continue to apply pressure to the league leaders, narrowly defeating Cowling 3-2.
Elsewhere, Addingham collected their first three points of the campaign with a 3-2 away victory against Silsden Whitestar Reserves.
In Division Two, Baildon Trinity Athletic earned a 4-2 victory against table-toppers Earby Town.
A Louis Francis hat-trick ensured Baildon remain within touching distance of Earby, with two games in hand.
Meanwhile, iPlay FC also won to keep the pressure on Earby. They picked up a 2-1 home victory against Bradley.
Skipton Town Reserves remain winless from their opening two games, a 5-1 thrashing at home to Sutton sending them to the foot of the table.
A Terence Hargreaves double put Sutton on their way to victory.
Salts 3rds Craven proved to be too good for Barnoldswick Barons Seniors, as they comfortably ran away with a 5-0 victory.
The final game in Division Two saw Chatburn and Barlick Wanderers lock horns in a thrilling 4-4 draw.
Crosshills Reserves won 11-0 away to Addingham Reserves in Division Three, in what was a high-quality performance.
Luke Newton and Gary Shepherd both scored hat-tricks for the travelling side.
Elsewhere, FC Sporting Keighley Reserves won 3-1 at home to Cowling Reserves and Sutton Reserves had to settle for a 1-1 draw at home to Settle United 3rds.
