BOTH Cowling and Bradley will have pause for thought after winning the toss and batting in their first-round Wynn Cup ties.
Neither then managed to make over 50 and were beaten in the Craven League’s blue-riband competition.
No-one in the Bradley innings made double figures (captain David Hunt was best with nine) at Wilsden as they were dismissed for 42 in just 15.3 overs, with Imran Khan taking 6-11 and Sam Mitchell (right) 4-21.
Husnat Bukhari (28 not out) then sped the home side to a nine-wicket victory in just 5.5 overs.
Cowling’s innings lasted longer - 26 overs to be precise - at home to Barrowford, but they could only total 47.
Zahid Hussain, at No.6, scored almost half of his side’s runs (22), while opener Ajmal Choudhry (10) was the only other player to reach double figures as Zahid Iqbal caused carnage, taking 7-9 in nine overs, including a hat-trick.
He was backed up well at the other end by Ummar Farooq (2-15), but Barrowford did not find things easy either when they batted.
They lost five wickets in reaching their target, but were seen home by Hamid Bushy (16no) as Hussain took 2-16.
Barrowford will now host Wilsden in the second round on Sunday, June 6.
Meanwhile, Cononley will be at home to Embsay after the former were given a walkover by Bradford & Bingley III.
