FOUR City of Bradford Swimming Club youngsters competed in the first of the Aquasphere Epic Events open water swimming series at Ullswater in the the Lake District on Sunday.
And there was some impressive work from a Keighley duo and a pair of Bingley sisters.
In perfect conditions, the quartet entered the one-mile distance, and from the 316 who started, Keighley's Sam Akers did best, coming eighth overall (sixth-best male) in a time of 21 minutes and 39 seconds.
His fellow Keighley native, Gabriel Medd was 35th overall, and 20th male in 24:51.
But the Tiffany sisters from Bingley also shone, with Olivia coming 28th overall (14th female) in a time of 23:57, and Imogen finishing 51st overall (21st female) in a time of 27:15
Sam also swam the 500m and achieved a podium finish, with second place out of 118 starters in a time of 6:36.
Not to be outdone, the parents got in on the action too, with Jackie Akers swimming 500m in 12:54 and Paul Tiffany completing a mile in 23:54.
