A pair of Silsden sisters produced some good results at the Yeadon-Guiseley Motor Club's charity trial at Dob Park, Otley, on Friday.

Ninety riders converged on the Washburn Valley event where all proceeds will be donated to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

Even better news though for the organisers came from Bradford & Bingley Building Society who pledged cash to match the money from the competitors, officials and spectators. Joint secretaries Cherry Dabill and Kim Whitham managed to segregate the competitors into seven different classes.

Kim's daughters Gabbie and Danielle, delivered a class win for Gabbie and a second place finish for Danielle after having to change a rear sprocket on her Beta with assistance from Vicky Ellis and Burley schoolboy Edward Haley. Haley restarted to win the Class B youth award on the clubman route.

At the sharp end it was youth versus experience with Ben Hemingway just beating Jack Challoner for the outright win. Richmond's Jonathan Richardson again demonstrated his skill to finish third.

Dacre rider Robin Harker outgunned Glen Scholey on the hard/easy course where that class ride expert sections.

Arkengarthdale youngster Jack Stone won the youth class riding the same sections.

Leicester's Ian Margetts took the clubman class from Harrogate stone dealer Neil Gaunt and retired Grassington motor engineer John Maxfield.
