OXENHOPE and Great Britain's Francesca Jones was bundled out of US Open qualifying, but not before a superb win in her opening match.
Jones, world number 170, defeated American Elizabeth Mandlik 3-6, 6-0, 6-3, at one point winning seven games on the spin.
Sadly the journey ended there for the talented 20-year-old, as she lost a couple of days later to Romania's Jaqueline Christian.
Jones lost the encounter 6-4 6-4, with the fact that she only won 56 per cent of points on her first serve throughout the match proving costly.
