CITY of Bradford’s swimmers had a successful Upper Age Group Yorkshire Championships, coming home with medals, two club records, a national qualification time and a plethora of final placings.
In terms of their Keighley contingent, it was 13-year-old Robbie Ambler who did best, coming seventh in both the 50m and 100m boys breaststroke events.
Swimming in the 14 years age group, it was Gina Warrior who claimed City’s highest placings, with silver medal finishes in the 50m and 100m backstroke events.
Both times were new club records and her time of 30.67 in the 50m event qualified her for The Winter National Championships, which will be held in Sheffield in December.
Fifteen-year-old Rebecca Dunn claimed fourth place in the 50m breaststroke and sixth place in the 100m event.
Next in line was 14-year-old Sophia Gledhill.
She had sixth place finishes in the 400m individual medley, 50m and 100m butterfly and 100m backstroke, seventh in the 200m individual medley and rounded off an excellent weekend's swimming with an eighth place finish in the 50m backstroke.
Other top 10 finishes went to Katie Wiles in the 16 years and over 50m butterfly and Alex Dunn in the boys 13 years 50m and 100m breaststroke.
