CROSSHILLS FIRST recorded their first win of the Craven League Premier Division season at the seventh time of asking after dispatching Bingley Town 5-2 on Saturday.
A Jordan Hough double, alongside goals from Bradley McDonnell, Jonathan Morris, and Josh Page, secured a vital three points for the hosts.
Callum Uttley’s red card proved decisive for leaders AFC Barnoldswick First, with a Rob Matthews hat-trick condemning them to just a second defeat of the campaign at home to Carleton Sports Club First, whilst Grassington United First are now just one point behind after winning 3-1 at Cowling First.
Elsewhere, the match between Cononley Sports Club First and Skipton Town First came to life in the second half, with strikes from Vincent Grant, Toby Meynell, and Andy Nicholson seeing the visitors run out 3-2 winners.
Silsden Whitestar’s match against Trawden Celtic Juniors was postponed.
In Division 1, all eyes were on the top-of-the-table clash between AFC Crossleys First and Trawden Celtic Juniors Reserves, where the hosts maintained their 100% record with a 5-2 win thanks to doubles from Lewis Oldridge and Ash Scully.
With Chatburn First, Ingleton First, and iPlay First seeing their fixtures against Settle United Reserves, Addingham First and Salts 3rds postponed, the only other match in the division saw Andy Radosevic and substitute Lee Mathers complete a second-half turnaround for Baildon Trinity Athletic First as they beat last-placed Grassington United Reserves 3-1.
Barlick Wanderers First became the first team to take points from Division 2 leaders Padiham FC Juniors, with Jordan Driver’s goal holding them to a 1-1 draw.
Bradley First were in scintillating form as they put eight past bottom-of-the-table Cowling Reserves, with Jordan Blackburn, Ben Ramsden, and Andrew Tanner all scoring twice, whilst Otley Town 3rds held off a second-half revival from Skipton Town Reserves to win 3-2.
Elsewhere in the division, substitute Damien Runciman helped Hellifield Sports edge out Sutton First 2-1, whilst the match between Grindleton First and Crosshills Reserves was cancelled.
The standout performance of the weekend undoubtedly came from Division 3’s AFC Crossleys Reserves as they scored an incredible 13 goals against Addingham Reserves.
Nine of those came in the form of hat-tricks from Morgan Bagley, George Bainbridge, and Nick Mead, with Emerson Bradwell and substitute Lewis Blackburn also on the scoresheet on a memorable afternoon.
FC Keighley United Open Age remain top of the division after a Josh Nelson double helped them beat Rolls Reserves 4-2, whilst a Mark Loughlin hat-trick, alongside goals from Ben Holmes, Oliver Kilburn, and Jack Syms, saw second-placed Settle United 3rds win 6-0 at Otley Town 4ths.
Weston Lane Juniors Open Age and Cononley Sports Club 2nds were the only other sides in action, with Tom Coe, Liam Finney, and James Gulley on target in a 3-1 win for the hosts.
