MEDALS were hard to come by for City of Bradford at the recent Yorkshire Swimming Association's Lower Age Group Championships, held at Ponds Forge in Sheffield.
But 12-year-old Quinn Austin Kelly from Keighley had three top ten placings in the 100m breaststroke and 100m freestyle and 200m individual medley.
He also went on to achieve top 20 finishes in the 50m freestyle, 50m butterfly, 50m breaststroke and 50m backstroke.
And there was one medallist in the City of Bradford ranks, as Freddy Dean shone in multiple events.
His time of 28.66 in the 50m freestyle gave him a silver medal, as did his time of 1.09.97 in the 100m backstroke.
He also took bronze in the 50m backstroke in a time of 32.76 and showed his versatility by finishing in the top ten in the 50m and 100m breaststroke and the 50m butterfly to round off an excellent weekend's swimming.
Top 20 finishes went to Jasmine Shay (x3) Evelyn Gledhill (x2), Harry Schmidt (x2) Laura Temple, Orlaith O'Carroll, Sadie Sarparast and Evie Hobson.
All swimmers train on the Bradford Aquatics Competition programme under the guidance of coaches Andy Pearce and Sarah Fisher.
