The 25th Soreen Stanbury Splash will take place at Penistone Hill near Haworth on Sunday.
Race organiser David Woodhead said the seven-mile fell race, which also includes 1,200 feet of climbing, received its name from the five beck/stream crossings that runners have to make their way through on the day.
Woodhead said: "With all the rain we've had it could be interesting."
Despite the amount of rain that has fallen, Woodhead said the race will go ahead, regardless of conditions.
"The race will not be cancelled, despite the weather. It has been run in three feet of snow before."
The race has been nicknamed the Malt Loaf Run because its sponsors Soreen provide all finishers with a malt loaf upon finishing the event.
Eleven-time winner Ian Holmes will compete this year as well as Robin Bradbury, who has won the Locals Trophy for the past three years, and Colin Moses, who won the trophy the previous six years.
The junior race starts at 10.30am, and all finishers will receive a Soreen goodie bag. Entry costs £1. The senior race starts at 11.30am, and all finishers will get a Soreen Malt Loaf. Entry costs £3.50.
