Silsden AFC were denied a fixture by the weather on Saturday.

The Cobbydalers were due to travel to Manchester to take on Flixton in the North West Counties League League top tier but a waterlogged pitch put the trip back.

"We trained the first-team squad indoors in the afternoon," said Silsden manager Paul Schofield. "Roll on some dry weather."

This Saturday Silsden are due to play league leaders Newcastle Town at Cougar Park.

Newcastle drew 1-1 at Colne in one of only three matches to be played in both divisions of the North West Counties League last Saturday.

Other local football matches were also called off at weekend because of the wet weather and waterlogged pitches.

Only two games were played in the West Riding County Amateur League.

In Division One league leaders Kirkburton beat Wakefield City 4-2. Steeton didn't have a game and Bronte Wanderers home match against Crag Road United was postponed.

In the Reserve Division Ardsley Celtic drew level on points with league leaders Steeton and Overden West Riding when Celtic beat Rawdon Old Boys 4-0. Steeton's match in the Reserve Division Cup at home to Bay Athletic was also called off.

All matches in Division Two and the Premier Division, which included Keighley Shamrocks' home match against Lower Hopton, were postponed.

This Saturday, Shamrocks travel to Overthorpe while Shammies' Reserves are at home to Salts.

Steeton's first team are at home to Kirkburton in the Division One Cup, while Bronte Wanderers are in league action away to Dudley Hill Rangers.

Bronte Reserves are at home to Kirkburton's second team in the quarter-finals of the Reserve Division Cup.

Keighley Ladies' County Cup game at Hebden Royd United on Sunday was not played because of a waterlogged pitch.

The West Riding County FA must now determine whether or not the match will be replayed.

Five matches in the Keighley & Aire Valley Sunday Alliance League were postponed on Sunday.

In the Premier Division the following games were postponed, Keighley Athletic v Keighley Royal and New Variety Club v Cavendish Hotel. In Division One matches involving Albert Hotel v Bingley Midlands Athletic, Cullingworth Rovers v Keighley Victoria Hotel and Keighley Star v St Annes were also postponed.

This Sunday the following Jeff Hall Cup matches are scheduled: AC Victoria v Keighley Star and Stanbury Park Rangers v New Variety Club.
