KEIGHLEY prospect Ibrahim Nadim is eyeing up his eighth win from eight as a professional boxer this weekend.
The Ricky-Hatton trained featherweight will be taking on John Spencer in Oldham this Saturday.
The 23-year-old, who is nine years Spencer’s junior, will be the hot favourite for the fight, with Spencer having lost all 16 of his professional bouts so far.
This is the first bout for the Steeton-born boxer in four months, since he beat Engel Gomez on points in Hull in March.
The main bout on Saturday’s card in Oldham is the Central Area Super Featherweight title fight between Michael Gomez Jr (17-1) and Brian Phillips (11-2).
Nadim will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of another boxer from the Bradford District, Hamed Ghaz, who won in Oldham last weekend.
Nadim was named the Amateur Boxing Association Senior Champion back in 2019, the same year he was crowned Three Nations Champion.
He turned professional at the end of 2019, winning his first bout in Bethnal Green against Misael Zeledon.
All of Nadim’s professional victories so far have come on points, with his biggest bout to date seeing him defeat Jonny Phillips at Wembley Arena in 2021.
